Waid "Scooter Daddy" Parker
"Don't leave your scoot on the street, I'll haul it home free."

Waid is the scooter deity who volunteered to follow us on our journey to ensure that it doesn't become the trail of tears. He's already saved our bacon a few times. Special thanks to Vespa Supershop and Vespa Motorsport of San Diego for helping sponsor some of Waid's expenses. The pimpin' truck (the "P2000", note the emblem) Waid provided sports a TV, VCR, first aid kit of course, an iceless cooler, and the critical cell phone.

Here's "Parker's Patent Pending Cruise Control". Materials sponsored by Red Hangar Cleaners of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Waid is an American Legend of Scootering, just ask him and he'll tell you so. You can see Waid's kitted GS160 on page 99 of the September '96 issue of GQ (in stores now!)

Waid has the gift of gab and something in common with everyone he meets. At any gas stop you're likely to find him in conversation with someone.

In June Waid went east to work on his son's scoots and attended the Madass Rally in Madison, Wisconsin, and the Boston Stranglers S.C. Cape Cod Rally (where the GQ photos were taken.) On the way home he totaled out his Toyota truck and purchased the aforementioned garage on wheels. In July, Waid attended his 3rd Vespa Club of America Rally.
