Vespa Stamps

Many people were excited by the Vespa stamp issued in Italy to honor the 50th anniversary of the Vespa. What you may not know is that several commemorative postmarks and special covers (or postcards) were also issued in Italy and other countries.

This postal cover was issued June 20th, marking China's participation in a philatelic conference in Milan.

This well known image isn't really a stamp. Issued April 28th 1956 to mark the production of the one millionth Vespa, it was produced and used only as a letter seal. It was reproduced this year as a part of a commemorative sheet and issued at the Philatelic Conference in Milano on June 20th.
