
The number of little scooters seen with each title below is my personal rating for the magazine, and is subject to my tastes only. The more scooters, the better I like it; I'll try and tell you why whenever possible. Because so many of the magazines are in languages I don't read, I often prefer those with uncommon pictures, an emphasis on vintage, and cool bikes. Prices are usually stated in the currency in which I paid, your mileage may vary.

A quarterly 'zine from the Midwest - Chicago, USA. The rating doesn't really apply because I've been too lazy to get myself a copy of this one yet. There have been three issues so far, the reviews I've heard are outstanding, so go for it.

American Scooterist (American)The quarterly members magazine of the Vespa Club of America (VCOA.) (This cover design was done by John M. Stafford and the picture was lifted from his site because I didn't have a copy in the office to scan.) See the VCOA site for subscription details. Available to members only (membership is US 20 per year, US 30 international.)

Moto et Scooter (French, used to be La revue du Scooter)A good magazine with a fair balance of vintage scooters, new small displacement motorcycles, and new scooters. Always has a good touring article, and a few classic scooter reviews or features. Free photo classifieds containing classic ACMA Vespas, older Lambrettas, and the occasional oddity (CZ, Peugeot, etc.)

MotoRoller (German)A highly respected scootering magazine. A nice balance between modern and collector machines, good graphics and print quality (and 100% recycled paper for you greenies.)

Piaggiornale (Italian)"Piaggiornale" is current incarnation of the Piaggio Company monthly newsletter/magazine. Attractive and interesting, it contains information on the company, new products, and special events.

Roller Aktuell (German)A scooter quarterly, a catalog of the myriad plastic crap available in the world. Good for Photos, specifications and pricing if you want that sort of thing.

Roller Spezial (German)A relatively new German magazine focusing on newer machines, and reflecting the German penchant for touring. The issue shown here contained a very well done pullout featuring the 50th anniversary of the Vespa.

Scooter (German)The German "Scooter" has a mostly modern bent. Lots of new bike reviews, but only a few articles for the collector of Italian steel.

Scooter (Italian)The Italian "Scooter" is aimed at the enthusiast, with articles for collectors, racers, and coverage of the modern vehicles as well. Good well rounded coverage.

Scootering (English)The best known scootering magazine in English speaking countries, and possibly everywhere else. Scootering is aimed squarely at the Italian scooter enthusiast and speaks with an unashamedly British accent. It contains photo layouts of vintage and custom scooters, race reports, rally reviews, new scooter & product reviews, and happily publishes articles and notices from all over the globe. Personal, sale, and want ads are free, as are club and event notices.

Tuttomoto (Italian)Tuttomoto is an Italian motorcylcing magazine, but it gives good regular coverage of modern and vintage scooter models, and regularly features the travelogues of world scooterist Giorgio Bettinelli.
