Mike Aarset

Mike Aarset, formerly of Sacramento, CA, is also a member the Burgundy Topz S.C. Mike rides fast Lambrettas and Vespas with equal skill and disregard to their paintwork.

Mike is the reigning champion of last summers two-stroke oil wrestling tournament (held on the beach after the King's Classic day show.) Mike is also unique in that he has no nicknames.

Notes from Mike:

I'm actually too big for a scooter, but that's never stopped me.

Scooters are rad, but my favorite is the Lambretta. One thing about the Lambretta is I'm always working on the damn ignition system. The stator plate is the worst. I own a P200 because I realize that, if I ever wanted to go anywhere, I'd better be on the Vespa.

I finally got electronic ignition for my lambretta. http://seuss.stanford.edu

Nothing beats the feel of the Lambretta, I just seem to enjoy working on these damn Italian things than riding them. I don't own a car and I ride every day unless I'm in jail or passed out cold.

One thing I need is to get in contact with other Lambretta people out there to share ideas on Lambretta maintenance. I can pretty much replace the top end and crank and clutch and loose gears but haven't messed with the rear axle and shifting cross, but hey that stuff never goes out on a Lambretta. I know I'm mostly a Lambretta guy, but I respect the Vespa for its reliabilty, you can hop on any freeway, open the throttle, go like hell, and enjoy the looks of the guy in the BMW that you just blew buy. Please contact me though on the subject of the Lambretta ignition, I'd be thrilled.
