Federation Internationale des Vespa Clubs (FIV)

On February 8, 1953, on the initiative of Mr. Renato Tassinari and the unanimous will of the representatives of the Vespa Club of Italy, of France, of Belgium, of Switzerland, of Germany, and of the Netherlands, was founded in Milan -- Vespa Club Europa -- an international organization whose aim was to coordinate and develop communications, initiatives, and relationships among the Vespa enthuisiasts in each country.

Two months after this constitution, Great Britain, Spain, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Portugal, and Saar were added to the ranks of the six founding countries.

Later an international organization was formed -- Vespa Club Mondial -- these two organizations unified and are now known as the Federation Internationale Des Vespa Clubs (FIV), and have been presided over by Mrs. Christa Solbach for the past 14 years.

Today, 24 countries are affiliated with the FIV. In addition to those listed above there are San Marino, Greece, the United States, Finland, Japan, Canada, Croatia, Singapore, Norway, Poland, Paraguay, and Australia. Over this span of time and territory Vespa enthusiasts of the FIV have brought life and culture to the streets of the world, always moving forward their ties of solidarity, friendship, cooperation, mutual understanding; and organizing important tourist, social, cultural, and sporting events, as well as European championships in trials riding, gymkhana, and raid (rally touring).
